The Contact Centre Directors’ Guild is a collective of directors, senior business leaders and entrepreneurs shaping the future of the UK’s contact centre industry – united to form one clear, authoritative voice.
Who we are
We bring together directors and executives from across sectors to share insight, challenge thinking, and raise the profile of the critical role contact centres play in business and society. Independently chaired and professionally facilitated, the Guild is a trusted forum for high-level collaboration, where experience aligns, perspectives strengthen, and collective strategic leadership drives progress for the industry.
Why the guild exists
The UK contact centre industry is one of the country’s largest and most vital workforces, yet it remains widely misunderstood and underrepresented.
Today, the sector employs over 1.16 million people, including 850,000 frontline advisors and more than 47,000 team leaders. That’s 3.4% of the UK’s working population, contributing over £3.5 billion to the economy and underpinning customer experience across every major industry.
And yet:
- Its strategic importance is often overlooked
- Its career opportunities are undervalued
- Its leadership voice is fragmented
- Its future is being reshaped at unprecedented speed
Rising employment costs, accelerating advances in AI, evolving customer expectations, and global competition are transforming the landscape. Organisations are being asked to do more, with greater efficiency, better experiences, and stronger outcomes while navigating constant change, at a pace the industry has never experienced.
Despite this, there has historically been no single, senior, unified voice representing the realities of the industry at director level.
The Guild was created to change that.
It exists to bring clarity where there is fragmentation, leadership where there is noise, and credibility where there is misconception.
By connecting those leading the UK’s largest contact centre operations, the Guild enables a more coordinated, informed, and forward-looking approach to the challenges and opportunities ahead.
